Ambassadors

Greet Veterans as they enter, provide them with information and clinic locations, answer general questions, and direct them to appropriate staff to resolve problems. Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon, or 12:00 noon - 4:00 p.m. Location: All Clinics

Community Outreach Volunteers

Represent VA at different events in the community to help recruit volunteers, raise awareness of new VA benefits, increase VA enrollment, and gather support for special programs and events. Hours: flexible, weekends  Location: Community

Hospitality Crew

Deliver beverages, snacks, and crafts to outpatient clinic waiting areas. Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., or 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Location: Corpus, Harlingen

Mail Room/Warehouse Assistant 

Complete mail room projects, assist with incoming deliveries, and preparing outgoing orders. Hours:  flexible between 8:00 am – 4:00 pm  Location: Harlingen

Pharmacy Assistant 

Help the pharmacies with checking names, status of orders, expiration dates, and packing orders. Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.  Location: Corpus, Harlingen, McAllen 

Patient Escort Volunteers 

Provide assistance with pushing patients in wheelchairs to their scheduled appointments. Hours:  flexible between 8:00 am – 4:00 pm  Location: All Clinics

Van Drivers 

Pick-up outpatients needing transportation at regional pick up points and bring them to the clinic. To fill this role, you must have a current drivers license and automobile insurance and pass a physical exam. Hours: All Day  Location: All Clinics 

Volunteer Program Assistant 

Help different medical or administrative offices in the clinic. Duties include volunteer time keeping, accepting and recording donations, orienting new volunteers, answering phones. Hours: flexible between 8:00 am – 4:00 pm  Location: All Clinics
