My Employee Personal Page (MyEPP)

 

MyEPP is your online connection to your personal pay and benefits information. With MyEPP, you can view your earnings and leave Statements, W-2s and current benefit information. You may also use MyEPP to make some of your own payroll and benefit changes including your tax withholding, health insurance elections, Thrift Savings Plan changes, etc., by using the online self-service options available on the website.

 

To access your MyEPP:

  • Shortly after you receive your first paycheck, you will receive a PIN from the National Finance Center in the mail.


  • Select agency name and then enter your Social Security number.

  • Customize your User ID to something other than your SSN.

  • Use the PIN you received from the National Finance to proceed in setting up your own password.


Employee Assistance Program (EAP)


Your employer provides free, confidential, voluntary Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services for all its employees. These services include up to six counseling sessions, newsletters, crisis counseling 24-hour/ 7 days a week, referrals to local resources, counseling for family members, etc.

Where can I park or can I use public transportation to access the building?

 

A:

Please contact your Human Resources POC for parking and public transportation details.

 

Q:

What attire is appropriate for reporting to new employee orientation?

 

A:

New employees reporting for orientation should dress in professional business attire.

 

Q:

What time do I need to report to the office on my first day?

 

A:

Please refer to your official offer letter for your orientation location.

Orientation will begin promptly at 8:30 am on your start date.
 

When you arrive please inform the front desk guards that you are here for DHS-OIG orientation.  Request they contact the HR POC listed on your offer letter.
 
The listed HR POC will then come to the lobby to escort you to the orientation site.

Q:

What do I need to bring with me when I report to new employee orientation?

 

A:

All new hire forms listed on this website need to be completed prior to reporting for your first day at DHS-OIG.
 
To verify citizenship requirements, we ask that you bring a valid U.S. Passport. If you do not have a passport, please refer to the I-9: Employment Eligibility Verification instructions to determine what other forms of identification are acceptable (one item from list A OR one item each from lists B and C).

Q:

How long is orientation?


A:

Orientation is approximately 2 hours long. It all depends on the orientation group size  and the time it takes to thoroughly address inquiries and/or concerns.

 

Q:

What should I expect at during orientation?


A:

On the first day of orientation, we will review the OIG’s mission and vision.. We will then review your required documents and thoroughly answer any question(s) you may have. You will then meet with several other department heads to discuss other items of importance including  security, facility overview and computer access.

 

Q:

When do my benefits initiate?

 

A:

The effective date of benefits is dependent upon your appointment type.
Individual information will be discussed during orientation.

 

Q:

When do my earnings and leave cycle begins?

 

A:

New employee earnings and leave benefits begin the first day of his/her arrival. The two-week pay period begins on a Monday and ends the second Friday of the pay period. Your pay date will be the second Thursday following the end of the pay period.
 

A pay calendar will be distributed during orientation for your convenience.

 

Q:

If I live in one state but work in another state, which state tax exemption form should I complete before orientation?


A:

You should always complete the state tax form that you reside in.
 

For instance if you live in MD but work in D.C., you need to complete the MD withholding form.

 

Q:

Will I receive a photo ID badge during the new employee orientation?

 

A:

No, our Security department will review the process for you to obtain your photo ID badge. However, you will be issued a temporary ID for convenience.
