The mission of Headquarters Company is to provide command, administrative, and security functions for Headquarters Battalion, and band support for 2d Marine Division.
22 Jan 2013 Commanding Officer's Update:
The past month has been a period of great transition for HQ Company with several members of the staff departing the command: Capt Joshua Lyon, the Company Executive Officer, 1stSgt Jonathan Wyble the Company 1stSgt, and MSgt. Kenneth Hunter the Company Gunnery Sergeant are all moving on either to EAS, PCS, or PCA. We thank them for their service and wish them the best in future endeavors. We also welcome aboard the new incoming staff: Capt Scott Holub as Company Executive Officer, 1stSgt. Wilbur Amaker as Company First Sergeant, and GySgt Christopher Battleson as Company Gunner Sergeant. Also during the month of January the Company conducted “back in the saddle” (BITS) training which included safety, financial, and medical classes to help the Marines start the year off in a positive direction. We will begin the Physical Fitness Tests in the next month and as we look forward to the changing weather.
