S. Nicole Hastings, MD, MHS is a Geriatrician and Research Scientist with the Center for Health Services Research in Primary Care and the Geriatrics, Research, Education and Clinical Center at the Durham VA Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Duke University Medical Center.
Dr. Hastings received her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed her Internal Medicine training at Stanford University, served as Ambulatory Care Chief Resident at the Palo Alto VA Medical Center and then earned a Master's degree in Clinical Research and completed a Geriatrics fellowship at Duke University.
The focus of Dr. Hastings' HSR&D Career Development Award is improving care for older veterans discharged from the Emergency Department. Her mentors for this award are Eugene Z. Oddone, MD, Morris Weinberger, PhD and Kenneth E. Schmader, MD.
