Basic Purpose |
| |
Under the direction of a Principal Investigator the candidate will work with the Experimental Astrophysics and Cosmology team at Argonne National Laboratory, with an emphasis on the analysis of data from the Dark Energy Survey (DES). Argonne scientists work on supernova cosmology from DES, LSST, and SDSS, as well as a variety of instrumentation projects including OH-line suppression for infrared astronomy. |

-Considerable analytical skills are necessary for examining the consistency of theoretical concepts, developing models of fundamental processes and interpreting data. |

Candidates should have a Ph.D. in astronomy or physics. Experience with instrumentation is desirable for some of our team`s projects, but is not a requirement for the candidate.
