Basic Purpose |
|
Under the guidance of a Supervisor develops and implements microfluidic systems to develop
separations processes for use in laboratory systems and for industrial applications. Performs
experiments, analyzes data, and develops computational models from the data. Responsible for
developing device fabrication approaches, defining dimensional requirements for test systems,
implementing designs, developing experimental plans and safety documentation. Documents results
in the form of monthly reports, progress reports to sponsors, and technical publications and
presentations. Works as a member of a multidisciplinary team developing technologies and using
computer models in support of laboratory experiments for industrial application. |

Knowledge, Skills and Experience |
|
Comprehensive Comprehensive experience with microfluidic devices and their implementation.
Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory processes. |

Considerable Considerable experience in modeling and simulation of chemical processes.
Considerable knowledge of aqueous chemistry. Considerable skills in both written and oral
communication.
Considerable knowledge and skills in data analyses. |

Good Good knowledge of modeling of chemical equilibria and kinetics, data analysis and model validation.

Other This level of knowledge is typically achieved through a formal education in chemistry or chemical engineering at the Ph.D.-degree level with zero to three years of experience or equivalent in the scientific application of this knowledge and practical laboratory experience.
U.S. citizenship is required.
