Job Description
  Basic Purpose
  Develop and integrate component models and controls, and validate Autonomie software using test data. Analyze fuel efficiency benefits of different component and powertrain technologies, including HEVs, PHEVs and EVs.
   
  Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  Considerable
Considerable knowledge of hybrid electric vehicle component models and controls. Considerable knowledge of PSAT, Autonomie, Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow, component and vehicle testing. Considerable skills in systems control software development and integration.
  Good
Good knowledge of electrical engineering concepts and procedures. Good knowledge of analytical research methods. Good knowledge of advanced transportation technology. Good knowledge of Laboratory policies and procedures. Good knowledge of transportation technologies, energy use, and environmental impacts of transportation. Good skills in program management and interacting with other project members. Good skills in time management, organization, and working on several concurrent projects. Good skills in oral and written communications and presentations.

This level of knowledge and skill are typically achieved through a M.S. degree in engineering and 2-3 years of experience in a research environment.
  Minimum Education/Experience Requirements
Ph.D. and 0-1 year experience/equivalent Master's Degree and 2-3 years of experience/equivalent Bachelor's Degree and 6-8 years experience/equivalent
