Video Interview with the Boondock Saints!

In celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the release of “Boondock Saints,” the film’s stars Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus and Brian Mahoney teamed up for a USO tour, along with the film’s writer/director Troy Duffy and producer Chris Brinker.  We’ll have pictures for you soon, but in the meantime enjoy this short video interview with the cast!

“The Boondock Saints” are Heading to Middle East on a USO Tour!

Actors Sean Patrick Flanery, Norman Reedus and Brian Mahoney of “The Boondock Saints” are travelling to Middle East on USO Tour!  Also along for the ride will be the Film’s Writer/Director Troy Duffy and Producer Chris Brinker.

Cast members of the cult classic film “The Boondock Saints” will spend eight days traveling through three countries for this USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour.  Along the way they’ll visit troops at military bases, sign autographs, post for photos, and extend their appreciation to the military.  This year marks the film’s 10-year anniversary and we’re thrilled to be a part of that!  While all five are making the trip to show their support of service men and women, Mahoney shares a special connection with troops, having served ten years in the U.S. Army.

This Week’s Snag Film: National Geographic’s Shark Encounters

The ultra-rare, deepwater "Megamouth" shark was captured on film for the first time ever in National Geographic's Shark Encounters. This, however, is a whale shark.

Plunge into the ocean with renowned filmmaker and shark expert Michael deGruy as he takes you to the underwater realm of sharks for this week’s USO Theater offering from Snag Films.  Remember: Snag Films are always free and you can share them with friends and family  - no matter where they are around the world!  We’re continuing to bring you the best in documentary film making and if YOU have films you’d like to see, let us know in the comments section.

This Week’s Snag Film: River Ways

The state of our lakes, rivers, and oceans is a hot topic in the news right now, so this week’s Snag Films documentary offering is especially prescient.  RIVER WAYS explores the lives of regular working people affected by the issue of four dams on Snake River in Eastern Washington.

Filmmaker Colin Stryker journeys to Washington state, where he chronicles the lives of everyday citizens struggling on either side of a divisive issue: whether to remove a series of hydroelectric dams from the Snake River. While groups of American Indians, environmentalists and fishermen advocate for removing the dams to replenish the local salmon population, farmers and other locals rely on the dams as an inexpensive source of electricity.

This Week’s Snag Film: The Yunnan Great Rivers Expedition

If you like the great outdoors, then you’ll love The Yunnan Great Rivers Expedition – a whitewater expedition through the upper Mekong, Salween and Yangtze rivers.  And this documentary has earned a five-star rating from Snag Films viewers!

In a remote corner of Southwest China, three of Asia’s greatest rivers plunge off the Tibetan Plateau through steep canyons in the Himalayas thousands of feet deep.  This stunningly beautiful film captures the incredible journey of a whitewater expedition, as it explores the upper Mekong, Salween and Yangtze rivers.  More than a wild adventure, the two-month expedition was an ambitious partnership with the Nature Conservancy and the Chinese government to help protect one of the most biodiverse and culturally diverse regions in the world.

From the Mekong River’s hidden Moon Gorge in the Himalayas to the towering canyon walls of the Yangtze River’s Great Bend, an odyssey of exploration and adventure and environmental activism.
