PBR and MAGIK start operations in new guide hall

Brian Maranville, Julie Borchers, Brian Kirby, Chuck Majkrzak and Joe Dura are flanked by the new reflectometers on guide NG-D: the Polarized Beam Reflectometer (left) and the MAGIK Off-Specular Reflectometer (right).

The polarized beam reflectometer/diffractometer (PBR) is now fully operational. In addition, MAGIK, the new instrument optimized for off-specular scattering is functional for specular reflectometry experiments with additional items which will allow detailed measurements of off-specular scattering to follow shortly. The instrument staff is now ready to welcome users to these machines.
