Bay Pines VA Healthcare System

Visitor Information

Bay Pines VA Healthcare System serves veterans from a 10 county area in the Gulf region of Florida.  In addition to our medical center in Bay Pines, we offer a number of clinics and outpatient centers to serve patients.

Information Desks

Information Desks are located at the main campus on the first floor in Bldg. 100 in the front lobby and at the Outpatient Entrance.  Volunteers are at the Information Desks Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  The volunteers act as Goodwill Ambassadors by providing information on the location of offices and services as well as offering assistance with appointment locations and referring phone calls.

Waiting Areas

For your convenience and safety, we have special waiting areas throughout our facilities. Please do not gather in the hallways or at the nurses' stations. You may also want to review our Visiting Hours and Policies.

Police and Security

Patient Safety is our number ONE concern.  We have a VA Police Service with uniformed federal officers stationed at the main campus and at our Lee County VA Healthcare Center.  Our officers provide 24-hour patrols of the facility and parking lots.  At our other clinics we utilize local authorities and emergency services, should the need arise.  If you find you are in need of Police and/or Security services, please contact a staff member who can put you in touch with the appropriate authorities.  To help keep our campuses safe, please report all suspicious or criminal activity, vehicle accidents, and personal property losses as soon as possible.

Because the VA Healthcare System is federal property, all persons and bags are subject to search. In addition, no weapons, alcohol, or illegal drugs are permitted.

Lost and Found

Lost and Found is located on the main campus in the Patient Funds Office, Bldg. 100, Room 1E112.  It is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Their extension is 5624.  After these hours, lost and found items are given to the Administrative Officer of the Day (AOD) at extension 7154.

At the Lee County VA Healthcare Center, Lost and Found is located in the Travel Office. You may also call Lost and Found at (239) 652-1800, extension 20367.

At the Community Based Outpatient Clinics you can ask the front desk clerk if you think you lost an item or call the clinic directly.

Religious Services

Our Chaplain Service cares about your spiritual needs and provides regular visitation, counseling, prayer, and sacramental ministries.  Their extension is 4264.  There is a prayer room for patients and families in Bldg. 100, Room 1E243 which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  There is also a Veterans Chapel in Bldg. 2, Room 111A that is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
