Colonel Allan J. "AJ" Darden Sr. began his career with the United States Army in 1976 as an enlisted Personnel Management Specialist. In 1984, he decided to pursue his long term goal of becoming an Army Officer. He left the Service after eight years and enrolled in Savannah State College earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology with a minor in Military Science. He earned his Commission in 1987 through the Reserve Officers Training Corps and was awarded the honor of Distinguished Military Graduate. He assessed onto Active Duty as a Medical Service Corps Officer in the spring of 1988. In addition to his Baccalaureate degree from Savannah State College, he holds a Masters of Science Degree in Human Resources Development from Webster University and a Masters Degree in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University's Industrial College of the Armed Forces.

Military schooling includes the Army Medical Department Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, the Combat Casualty Care Course, the Command and Staff School, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, the Force Management Course, the Personnel Management for Executive Course, Joint Planners Orientation Course, CAPSTONE and is a 2011 graduate of the National Defense University's Industrial College of the Armed Forces.

He is the recipient of numerous awards, decorations and honors including the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with four Oak Leaf clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with three Oak Leaf clusters, the Combat Field Medical Badge, and the Expert Field Medical Badge.

Eileen Mitchell has 37 years of Federal service. She has been employed at Fort Detrick since 1978. She is currently the Deputy Commander of U.S. Army Garrison (USAG), Fort Detrick. In this capacity, she fully supports the Garrison Commander in managing garrison operations and guides the installation in the development and execution of its vision, goals, and strategic plan. When she was first assigned to her current position, she was also dual-hatted as the Chief of Public Affairs, having worked in the public affairs field for 24 years. She initially began her career at Fort Detrick with a temporary assignment as a GS3 public affairs clerk.

Her previous employment includes an assignment with Department of the Army Public Affairs Office, Community Relations Division, and, prior to her arrival at Fort Detrick, an assignment with the Department of Housing and Urban Development in the Public Affairs/Congressional Relations Office in Washington, D.C.

In her role as Deputy Garrison Commander, Ms. Mitchell often represents Fort Detrick at off-post events and meetings. She serves as a member of the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce and the Frederick County Tourism Council. She is the liaison for the Commander to many off-post organizations, including the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development and the Frederick County Office of Economic Development, and many other service organizations. She is the primary contact for United States Congressional representatives' staffs and state and local government officials. She currently is serving on the Board of Associates for Hood College and a member of the Supervisory Committee for COMSTAR Federal Credit Union. She previously served as a member of the board of the Frederick County Economic and Community Development Commission for three years. She volunteers in support of several nonprofit organizations with the Frederick Community.

Ms. Mitchell was graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in communication from Hood College in 1995. She is a graduate of the Army Management Staff College.

Her awards include two Commander's Awards for Civilian Service and two Civilian Army Achievement Medals. She was previously selected by the Baltimore Federal Executive Board as a Silver Winner for Outstanding Professional and twice as Fort Detrick Woman of the Year. She was awarded the Order of Military Medical Merit for her contributions to the U.S. Army Medical Department.

Ms. Mitchell lives in Frederick County, MD.

CSM Cassandra D. Redd, a native of Oklahoma, entered the Army in June 1982 and completed Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas as a Combat Medical Specialist (91A). She later reclassified to Personnel Administration (75H/42A).

Throughout her career, CSM Redd has served in every position from section chief to Battalion Command Sergeant Major. Her assignments include Fort Carson, CO, Fort Sam Houston, TX, Schofield Barracks, HI, Korea, Fort Sill, OK and Fort Polk, LA Her most recent assignment was 4th BSTB, 1st CAV DIV Fort Hood Texas.

CSM Redd's education includes Medical Specialist Course, Northern Warfare Training Course, Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic and Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, First Sergeant Course, United States Sergeants Major Academy (Class 56), Battle Staff Course, Personnel Administrative Course, Personnel Management Course, Supply Specialist Course, Small Group Facilitator Course and Observer Controller Trainer Course. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Administrative Management and currently pursing a Master of Business degree.
