Military Sealift Command's 2008 in Review
MSC dry cargo/ammunition ship USNS Carl Brashear is launched into San Diego harbor during its christening ceremony at the National Steel and Shipbuilding Company shipyard. The ship was named in honor of Master Chief Boatswain’s Mate Carl Brashear, the first African American to qualify and serve as amaster diver on active duty.
