IACS Office Consolidation
In order to consolidate personnel assets to improve customer service, the Installation Access Control System (IACS) Office has closed the location at the MP desk. Europe-wide Installation Gate Changes
A new plan to alter services at the gates here and across U.S. Army garrisons in Germany, Italy and Belgium will go into effect immediately. The USAG Schweinfurt Dental Clinic now offers space available stand-by appointments for other-than-active-duty eligible beneficiaries. Appointments can only be scheduled 24 hours in advance.
Dining Facilities Price Increase
As a result of a Dept. of Defense-wide decision, on-post Dining Facilities have undergone a price increase effective Jan. 1, 2012. New prices are as follows: Breakfast $2.45 ; Lunch/Dinner $4.55 ; Brunch $5.20 ; Supper $6.40 ; Holiday $7.50 ; Night Snack $2.90
Garrison ends Landstuhl shuttle
Effective Jan. 1, 2012, USAG Schweinfurt’s directorate of logistics ceased operations of the Schweinfurt - Landstuhl hospital shuttle. A recent operation order released by IMCOM mandates a decrease in logistics funding by $348 million over the course of the next fiscal year and looks to meet that goal by reducing the non-tactical vehicle fleet for garrisons worldwide by 46 percent. Bulk Trash Pickup
Second and Fourth Tuesdays, 7 a.m.
Askren Manor, Yorktown Village and government leased quarters
Do not put items out earlier than Monday evening. Only bulk trash items will be collected. This includes large items that normally do not fit into regular trash containers.
Leaf Raking and Garden Waste Disposal
Askren Manor and Yorktown Village
Beginning in October, DPW maintenance crews will perform leaf raking and grounds maintenance every 2 weeks on Tuesday and Wednesday. All areas will be covered excluding Jackson Street and Yorktown Village. Residents of Jackson Street and Yorktown Village are responsible for the grounds maintenance in their respective areas. Every Monday, Tuesday and Friday DPW will pick-up and dispose of garden waste that is deposited in brown paper bags and placed at the roadside. Brown bags will be available at DPW Self-help and the Askren Recycle Yard.
Recycling Education Class
Offered twice a month on Wednesday
6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
FreeCycle (across from the community mailroom on Ledward Barracks)
Recycle education course for trash disposal offenders and anyone who wants to learn about recycling. Family members nine and up are encouraged to attend with their parent. Bring a friend if he or she lives in military housing or military-leased housing. Class space is limited so please call 09721-96-6955 or DSN 354-6955 to sign up. Classes cancelled if no one is signs up by 4:30 p.m. the Tuesday before class.
