Non-Immigrant Visas

Welcome to the Non-Immigrant section of the American Embassy in Quito.  Considering your interest in visiting the United States, we hope that the information available on the website will help you in the process of applying for the visa.

The Consular section of the Embassy in Quito only processes visas for those who live in the following provinces: Esmeraldas, Carchi, Imbabura, Sucumbios, Santo Domingo, Pichincha, Napo, Orellana, Cotopaxi, Tungurahua, Pastaza, Bolivar, Chimborazo and Morona Santiago.

If you reside in another province you should visit the website of the Consulate of Guayaquil and learn the steps and procedures for obtaining a visa.

If you would like to know the current wait time to get an appointment, please refer to the Visa Wait Times web site.

The type of visa required will depend on the purpose of your travel.  For information on the application process, please review the steps that are detailed on the right side of this page.

The Embassy urges travelers to apply for visas with as much time in advance as possible.  No assurances regarding the issuance of visas can be given before the visa interview.  Therefore, final travel plans or the purchase of non-refundable ticket should not be made until a visa has been issued and you have received your passport via DHL.
