Description of Research

Dr. dos Santos' research focuses primarily in the use of in neutron and X-ray powder diffraction data for crystal structure determination and analysis. This information is useful to understand the atomistic origin of the observed properties of materials, in particular magnetic properties in multiferroics and low dimensional magnetic systems as well as the luminescent properties of lanthanide based phosphors.
