These areas are organized and managed in three scientific directorates:

Leads the discovery and development of fundamental and integrated science that advances future air and space power

Mathematics, Information and Life Sciences Directorate
Provides the Air Force with innovative options to increase performance and operational flexibility

Physics and Electronics Directorate
Generates revolutionary knowledge and research in theoretical and experimental
physics needed to advance operational capabilities of the Air Force
