What are your hours and location?
The Distribution Management Office (DMO) is open from 0730 to 1600 Monday thru Friday, except for Thursday we close at 1400 for training purposes. We are located on MCBH at BLDG 209 the corner of 2nd and C Street.

Personal Property Section

I just got here to the island, how do I get my Household goods delivered to my address?
All inbound shipment coming to the island is received my Joint Personal Property Shipping Office (JPPSO). Look at your outbound delivery sheet leaving your previous duty station and contact the number provided by moving company.

I am still on the waiting list for Government Housing and my Storage in Transit (SIT) is about to expire. Can I get my storage extended?
Members will need to get a letter from Family Housing (Forest City) stating when you’ll be receiving government housing and bring in that letter to DMO. DMO will be able to extend your storage to the date you will be receiving your housing, but no more than 90 days.

I just received my orders, what do I do to move?
If you are PCSing to your next duty station and have received your web orders, you will have to go to www.move.mil to setup for your personal property move. Once you are completed with your personal property shipment, you can call (808) 257-3566 to make an appointment.

If you are retiring or separating form the Military Service, bring your orders into DMO to setup for your move. Classes for retirement and separation are every Tuesday and Thursday at 0800 in the back room of DMO.

What do I need to rate a move?
All moves require four (4) copies of your orders (PCS, Separation, and Retirement). Etc. (2 copies of POA, motorcycle registration, and/or firearm registration).

Can my spouse/or friend attend the class for me?
Yes, however they must have a Power of Attorney (POA) to act in your behalf.

Can I ship firearms part of my (UB) unaccompanied baggage shipment?
Yes, small firearms (i.e. pistols and revolvers) can be shipped part of your UB shipment.

What do I need if I am shipping an ATV or dirt bike?
All DMO will need is 2 copies of the bill of sale. ****Proof of ownership*****

How much advance notice does DMO need to move me?
We would like to have 15 to 20 working days to arrange your move if you are PCSing to your next duty station. If you are moving local economy into Base Housing, we would like to have 5 to 7 working days.

I have a couple propane tanks, I want to ship in my HHG shipment. Will I be able to ship them out?
Yes, you are able to ship your propane tanks, but they will need to be purged and empty prior to the movers coming over.

I just received Base Housing; can DMO move me on Base?
Yes, we can move you from the local economy onto Base Housing with the Housing Assignment Slip provided by Base Housing. Once Base Housing submits your package up for funding, a DMO representative will call you to come down to schedule an appointment for pick-up.

This is my first duty station, do I rate a move?
Yes, this is commonly known as a “Home of Record” move. Only (1) Home of record move is authorized throughout your entire military career in the Military Service. You will need to these orders into the DMO office: (1) copy of your Boot Camp Orders, MCT/SOI orders, MOS School orders (If applicable), Order to new PDS (Hawaii), Reporting endorsement orders, Home of Record page (enlistment contract), Marriage certificate (if applicable), power of attorney (if applicable).

I just got married; can DMO move my spouse here?
Your orders determine your shipping entitlement. If you had dependents before reporting aboard MCBH Kaneohe, then you would be entitled to a move. If you acquired dependents after you reported aboard MCBH Kaneohe, then “no” entitlement exists for a move.

Where does my personal property go to when it gets shipped from here if I don't have an address at my next duty station?
Your personal property will go into (SIT) Storage in Transit. Once your personal property gets shipped out from here it goes into a storage facility within your next duty station for a period of 90 days. It is the service members’ responsibility to contact their DMO before their storage expires.

Can I ship my car?
The entitlement for transportation is of “one” POV for one set of orders. You can make an appointment and check you status of your vehicle at www.whereismypov.com. Only one vehicle in, one vehicle out!!!

Can I ship another vehicle if I ship one on ERD orders?
No, if the service member had already shipped a vehicle out from this duty station prior to his PCS orders, no further vehicle transportation is authorized.

If my spouse is a military member as well, can we ship both of our cars?
Yes, only is both service members is dual-military.

How long does it take to ship a POV from here to the mainland?
All vehicles will be shipped to the closest port to your next duty station; for separation to the closest port to your (HOR) Home of record. It will depend on where to the mainland the vehicle is being shipped to.

Passenger Section

How soon will DMO book my reservations for my PCS/EAS/RET flight?
Once DMO has received your Port Call Request (PCR) from IPAC, depending on your departure date, it takes approximately 3-7 business days for your request to be processed and reserved with the contract carrier for your particular location.

How can I get a confirmation code/Itinerary for my flight?
IPAC will provide you with your itinerary and confirmation code once the Commercial Travel Office (CTO) books your reservation. Once you have received your confirmation code, you can also view the itinerary at https://www.virtuallythere.com.

When will my tickets be issued?
DMO will purchase/issue your airline tickets 3 business days prior to your departure date. You will be provided an Electronic Ticket Receipt which can be picked up from IPAC. However, if you have already received your “ORGINAL ORDERS” from IPAC, you can pick up your ticket receipt from DMO.

Would I be able to change my reservations once my flight ticket have been purchased/issued?
Yes, DMO will be able to change your flight tickets but will need an endorsement modification/cancelation from IPACfor a date change and/or destination change.

How can I take leave en-route utilizing government travel when I PCS from this duty station?
The government will only provide travel to authorize official sites (i.e. next Permanent Duty Station, Port of Entry and/or Authorized Vehicle Processing Center) in accordance with your PCS orders

Does the government pay or reimburse for pet travel (Pet: Cats/Dog ONLY)?
No, there are no military entitlements for pets, however; CTO will do a courtesy booking with the airline you will be booked with. When doing your PCR with IPAC ensure you have them annotate your pet(s) information on it (weight and dimensions of kennel).Each traveler will then contact their carrier to confirm their pet(s) on their scheduled flight. You will be responsible for the payment of your pet(s) ticket.

I am planning to go on Temporary Additional Duty (TAD), how do I get a reservation?
You or your S-1 will create and request travel for you through the Defense Travel System (DTS). Once your request is received by CTO they will book a reservation for you.

Do I have to use my Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) to purchase my tickets?
Yes, if you possess a GTCC that is the form of payment that must be used for your official travel. A person whom travels 3 times in the same year on the DMO CBA is considered a frequent traveler and will need to apply for their own GTCC.

Why do I always have problems using my GTCC?
Prior to your travel date, you should ensure your GTCC is activated. Your S-1 is responsible for this. If this is the first time you are using your card, you must first call the bank at the 1 800 number that is provided on the sticker of your card to verify receipt of card; followed by contacting your S-1 for activation (basically it’s a double activation process).

Claims Section

What is the process at Delivery of your HHG(Household Goods), UB Unaccompanied Baggage’s or NTS( Non-Temp Storage)?
Your Movers will give you your inventory pages and Loss and Damage Claim Sheet. You will check off all boxes and items from your inventory. If there are any damages when you movers are there they will fill out the front of your form either 1840 or 1850. They will sign that form to justify your damages.

What do you do if your find damages or loss items after the movers leave?
You will log the damages or missing items on the back of the DD 1840 which will be 1840r and on the Form 1850 the back will be 1851.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE BACK OF THE PAGE YOU CAN LOG YOUR DAMAGES AND LOSS ITEMS ON A WHITE SEPARATE SHEET OF PAPER.

How long do you have to turn in your DD 1840/1840r or Form 1850/1851?
You have 75 days from delivery to bring these forms into your DMO office to be signed by the Claims personnel. They will fax your forms to your Carrier to stop the 75 days.

Who will help you to prep your forms to be sent to your Carrier or DPS?
Your Claims Examiner can be reached at 808-257-6717. Please call before hand to make appointment.
PLEASE DO NOT GO ON TO DPS OR CONTACT YOUR CARRIER UNTIL YOU HAVE SEEN THE CLAIMS PERSONNEL.

Passport Section

Do you do Passports?
Yes, DMO has 3 passport agents (2 at MCBH and 1 at Camp Smith) that accept and process No-Fee Passport Applications (for Official Passports) only. We do not accept or process passport applications for a tourist passport.

I received my permanent change of station orders to Japan; do I need to apply for a passport?
No, as the service member, when you PCS to Japan, your orders and your military I.D. is sufficient documentation to keep you in that country for the duration of your tour.

Will my family need to apply for a passport?
Yes, your family will need to obtain No-Fee Passport from a Passport Agent in the DMO Office. To receive more information, please contact the DMO front desk.

Do I need to send my Original birth certificate with my application?
Yes, for a No-Fee Passport, you will have to submit your original birth certificate for proof of citizenship. You will have it returned with your new passport.

Where can I take/receive a passport photo?
DMO can provide service members and their dependents passport photos free of charge when applying for a No-Fee Passport (Official Passport). Unfortunately we do not provide passport photos for a Tourist Passport Application.
The following locations are where a passport photo may be taken:

DMO Kaneohe Bay Office contact (808) 257-3566 walk in basis Monday-Friday 0730-1130 or 1300-1600; Thursday 0730-1130 or 1300-1400. Located in Bldg 209, Rm 105 (corner of 2nd and C Street)

USPACOM contact (808) 477-9356 walk in basis 1300-1600 Visitor Command Center; located on Camp Smith in Bldg 700

MARFORPAC contact (808) 477-8588 walk in basis 0800-1100 Monday-Friday. Located on Camp Smith at the Basement Level.

Please ensure you have a collard shirt for photo; any color collard shirt will suffice except white (background for picture is white)

How long does it take for me to get my passport?
It will take approximately 6-8 weeks for your paperwork to be processed. Your passport maybe delayed because of various reasons; most common reasons are: missing and/or lack of proper documentation or not qualified for passport.
