Stewart’s Statement on the State of the Union Address
Rep. Chris Stewart issued the following statement after President Obama gave his 2013 State of the Union address: -
Stewart Urges Sec. Salazar to Release Federal Lands in Utah
Today, Rep. Chris Stewart (UT-02), along with four other members of the Utah delegation, sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Interior Secretary, Ken Salazar, urging the Department to dispose of 5,423 acres of federal land in Utah that has been identified as suitable for disposal by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). -

Stewart Urges the President to Produce a Balanced Budget
Rep. Chris Stewart (R-UT) has co-sponsored the “Require a PLAN” Act, expected to be considered on the House Floor on Wednesday. This bill, H.R. 444, introduced by Rep. Tom Price (R-GA), would require the White House to either produce a balanced budget, or provide a supplemental budget to identify when their plan would actually achieve balance. -

One of the primary reasons I ran for Congress was my commitment to cut our federal spending. We are standing at a tipping point in our history. We must reclaim the moral and fiscal discipline that created the American dream. What we do now will determine what kind of nation and what kind of future we pass on to our children and grandchildren.
