Command Master Chief, III MEF Expeditionary ForceCommand Master Chief

Master Chief Vorters enlisted under the delayed entry program in December 1982. He completed basic training at the Recruit Training Command, San Diego in August 1983, and then attended Dental Technician "A" School, Naval School of Dental Assisting and Technology, San Diego. In October of 1983, he reported aboard USS BELLEAU WOOD (LHA 3). In June of 1986, he attended Hospital Corpsman Surgical Technology "C" School, Naval School of Health Sciences, San Diego. Upon completion of training, he reported aboard the USNS MERCY (TAH 19) as an Oral Maxillofacial Surgical Technician. He departed on Mercy's historic maiden voyage and humanitarian mission to the Philippines in January 1987. Upon completion of the deployment, he transferred to the Oral Maxillo-Facial Surgery Department, Navy Regional Medical Center, San Diego in August 1987.

May 1988, he reported to the U. S. Naval Hospital, Yokosuka, Branch Dental Clinic, Sasebo, Japan. He then attended the inaugural class of Medical Department Administrative Technician "C" School, Naval School of Health Sciences, San Diego. In January 1993 he reported aboard the USS BELLEAU WOOD (LHA-3), forward deployed, Sasebo, Japan. June 1995, he was assigned to Naval Dental Center, Great Lakes and advanced to Chief Petty Officer 1998. In January 1999, he transferred to the First Force Service Support Group, First Dental Battalion for duty as a Detachment Leading Chief Petty Officer and Battalion S3/S4. August 2001, he reported aboard the USS FRANK CABLE (AS 40), Agana, Guam where he served as the Dental Department Leading Chief, Ship's Enlisted Watch Bill Coordinator and was selected for advancement to Senior Chief Petty Officer.

In August 2003, he reported aboard Naval Dental Center, Great Lakes and served as its last Command Senior Chief. After the integration of Naval Hospital and Naval Dental Center, Great Lakes he served as the Dental Directorate Senior Enlisted Leader and was selected for advancement to Master Chief Hospital Corpsman.

In October 2005, he reported aboard Naval Health Care New England, Headquarters, Newport, Rhode Island for duty as Command Master Chief, Naval Health Care New England. A geographically dispersed command with branch clinics located in Newport, Rhode Island; Portsmouth, New Hampshire; Groton, Connecticut; Naval Air Station, Brunswick Maine and Saratoga Springs, New York.

In May 2007, he assumed the duties of Command Master Chief, Third Marine Division and in June 2010 began his present assignment as Command Master Chief, III Marine Expeditionary Force.

He is a graduate of Roger Williams University, BS, Public Administration. The Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, Class NRC 07 Green and Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Course, Class 42A. Personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three awards) and Navy Good Conduct Medal (five awards).
