Information Technology (IT) at ORNL serves a diverse community of stakeholders and interests. From everyday operations like email and telecommunications to institutional cluster computing and high bandwidth networking, IT at ORNL is responsible for planning and executing a coordinated strategy that ensures cost-effective, state-of-the-art computing capabilities for research and development. ORNL IT delivers leading-edge products to users in a risk-managed portfolio of services.
To drive this mission, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) develops, communicates and manages strategy, policy and finance across the portfolio of IT assets. IT staff executes and implements the strategies outlined by the CIO.
