      Optical System
White Beam Mode: Slit-defined white radiation; capability of introducing various absorbers into beam path to modify spectral distribution. Monochromated mode: Enabled by channel-cut or asymmetrical Si monochromator crystals mounted on diffractometer.

      Experimental Apparatus
Radiation hutch; five circle Huber goniometer with computer controlled robotic detector arm for positioning X-ray detectors; Diffractometer setup with monochromator, sample and detector (CCD camera/film) axes on optical table for monochromated X-ray topography with environmental chamber with beryllium exit and entrance windows; chamber mounts in eulerian cradle of white beam camera, remote manipulators, furnace, deformation stage; scintillation detectors; real-time X-ray television system; dark-room for development of X-ray films; Surface spectrometer installed in hutch.

      Computer System Hardware & Software
Dell Optiplex workstation using SPEC for motor software.
