Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center depends on the goodwill of our benefactors and volunteers who wish to give back to America's heroes.

Volunteers are the heartbeat of the Medical Center and they help make our hospitalized Veteran's stay more enjoyable.

To volunteer, call or visit the Voluntary Service Office. We will be happy to receive your application and/or discuss how you can fufill us in our mission to provide comfort and care to America's Veterans. When visiting the office, please bring with you two forms of government issued identification. At least one of these forms must clearly display your photograph. For example, bring your driver’s license and a birth certificate, social security card or passport.

Giving

Cash donations are used for the comfort and welfare of our Veteran patients, including, but not limited to —

  • hygiene products
  • refreshment supplies
  • cable television for spinal cord injury patients
  • recreational activities

Non-cash contributions are used to make our patients' stay more enjoyable. Items which are accepted include —

  • magazines
  • coffee and cookies 
  • telephone cards
  • spa items, nail files
  • sewing kits
  • denture items
  • radios
  • DVDs
  • DVD player
  • socks
  • non-skid slippers
