First Sergeant Darryl M. Brown, Sr., is the Senior Enlisted Advisor of 2nd Battalion, United States Military Entrance Processing Command and the New York Military Entrance Processing Station.

First Sergeant Brown enlisted in the United States Army in October 1990, processing through the Fort Jackson Military Entrance Processing Station. He completed basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. His first duty assignment was Camp Red Cloud, South Korea, where he was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Infantry Division as a Personnel Actions Specialist. He was then assigned to Fort Hood, Texas, where he served with Alpha Detachment, 502nd Personnel Support Battalion as a Personnel Actions Specialist. He was next assigned to Freiburg, Germany, where he was assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 37th Armored Regiment, 3rd Armored Division as Personnel Services noncommissioned officer. He was then assigned to Fort Leavenworth, Kan., where he served with United States Army Combined Arms Command as noncommissioned officer in charge, Personnel Operations Branch. He was then assigned to Fort Benning, Ga. where he served with Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 47th Infantry Basic Combat Training Brigade as Senior Drill Sergeant. Next he was assigned to North Camp Sinai, Egypt, where he served with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st United States Army Support Battalion as Senior Personnel Sergeant. He then returned to Fort Hood, where he served with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Medical Brigade as Senior Human Resources Sergeant, and later with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) as Senior Human Resources Sergeant. He then was deployed to Joint Base Balad, Iraq, where he served with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) as Senior Human Resources Sergeant.

His professional military education includes Warrior, Senior, and Advanced Leader Courses, Drill Sergeant School, Unit Prevention Leader Course, Combatives Level 1 Course, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, and Combat Lifesaver Course. He has also earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Administration.

First Sergeant Brown's military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal and numerous unit and service medals and ribbons. He has also earned the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge and Driver Badge.
