This American Corner will serve as an information resource center particularly for Cambodian youth looking for education and employment opportunities.

Ambassador William E. Todd presided over the inauguration of Cambodia’s fourth American Corner, located at the University of Southeast Asia (USEA) in Siem Reap City.  Siem Reap Deputy Governor Sang Riha and USEA President Sien Sovanna joined the Ambassador to welcome more than 1,000 students and teachers from the university, nearby high schools, and English language centers in attendance.

In his remarks, Ambassador Todd said, "This new American Corner will play an important role in helping area students to hone their English skills and learn more about American society and culture through a diverse collection of educational books, videos, and multimedia materials covering a wide range of subjects.”  He added, "Through its support for this American Corner, the U.S. Embassy renews its commitment to helping improve education, English language teaching, and access to information in Cambodia.”

This American Corner will serve as an information resource center particularly for Cambodian youth looking for education and employment opportunities. The Corner's collection of books, magazines, audio-visual resources, Internet terminals, and computer-aided study materials will be open to all members of the Cambodian public. Additionally, the American Corner will host speakers, workshops, and meetings, and will serve as a venue for locally-generated programs such as American film screenings, English programs, and educational advising.
