The U.S. Embassy supports Internet Freedom

U.S. Embassy Phnom Penh was one of the sponsors for “BlogFest Asia 2012” which took place in Siem Reap, November 1-5, 2012. Nearly 200 people registered to attend the event from various countries in Asia, including Cambodia, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Burma, China, the Philippines, Vietnam ....

The event covered not only blogging, but also various topics related to social media and freedom of expression, including cybercrime law, citizen journalism, internet security, ect.

In keeping with what Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton calls 21st Century Statecraft, the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh has expanded its engagement with Cambodian audience through its presence in social media as well as sponsoring and organizing programs aimed to support internet freedom.
