Army Knowledge Online (AKO)

Welcome to the USARJ Army Reserve Advisors Web Portal

We are primarily responsible for advising the U.S. Army Japan Commander and his staff on issues relating to Army Reserve and the Reserve Components and for administering the DIMA program.

Many service members are surprised to learn that the U.S. Army has a sizable presence in Japan, and not many know about the Reserve program known as the Drilling Individual Mobilization Augmentee (DIMA) program. Together, these two pieces offer a unique opportunity to qualified Army Reserve soldiers to continue their military service in this amazing country.

United States Army Japan (USARJ) traces its lineage back to Army Forces Far East, part of the Far East Command established in Japan after World War II under General Douglas MacArthur. Today, USARJ is the Army Component Command of United States Forces Japan providing a strategic forward presence, support for regional contingencies, and bilateral engagement with Japan.

If you are already assigned as a DIMA, or are interested in the DIMA program, you will likely find answers to all of your questions regarding preparing for and training in Japan on this website.
