Recruitment & Selection Guide: Best Practices
To help VA become an employer of choice and a leader in the Federal community in
the area of equity, diversity, and inclusion, ODI has developed a
Recruitment and Selection Best Practices-Avoiding EEO Pitfalls. This
guide lists key EEO pitfalls and provides practical EEO information and strategies
for avoiding them.
It is designed to provide best practices for conducting a fair and legally defensible
hiring process that ensures equity in internal placement actions and external hiring
practices.The hiring process includes any measures, practices, policies, and procedures
used to arrive at a hiring or promotional decision, including but not limited to
recruitment, interviewing, rating and ranking candidates, and final selection.
