Discussion

The turbine will connect to the Nebraska Public Power District power grid. The turbine installation is part of an ongoing effort to grow the wind energy program at Northeast, which was recently expanded and now offers a 2-year associate degree. The college also offers a one-year, 41-credit-hour program. Northeast students assisted with the first DOE Wind for Schools project in Nebraska at Elkhorn Valley District Schools in Tilden in 2008.
