Diversity Council
The VA Diversity Council serves as an independent executive level body that
provides advice and recommendations to the Secretary of Veterans Affairs on
areas related to diversity and inclusion. The Council is composed of
representatives from each of the Department’s major organizations, staff
offices, and stakeholders and serves as a communications link between the
workforce and leadership and a forum to share best practices, consider new
initiatives, monitor progress, leverage resources, and ensure accountability in
the area of organizational diversity and inclusion. The Diversity Council
ensures that diversity and inclusion considerations are integrated throughout
VA’s strategic planning efforts, business practices, and organizational
components. On this page, you will find links to information related to the
work of the Diversity Council. Take a look at the
2011 Biennial Report (text-only).
The Diversity Council charter (text only) is available as is a list of
Diversity Council members.
