On June 17th, Ambassador John Ordway officially opened the U.S. Embassy Information Resource Center.  Attendees included Kazakh government officials, librarians, teachers of English, students, and others with an interest in English language and American culture.

The center has an excellent collection of modern books on American history.  At this center, visitors who are interested in learning more about the United States will be able to find the latest news other reliable information on American foreign and domestic policies.  The center will support the embassy’s cultural programs, such as American speakers, artists, musicians, and writers.  Visitors will have a chance to learn about various U.S. State Department educational exchange programs, as well as other opportunities to study in the United States. 

Ambassador Ordway stressed his hope that the Information Resource Center will become a an important place to help facilitate dialogue between the two nations.
