On June 1, the American Corner in Karaganda hosted Mark Bowman, Joel Montalbano, and Robert Navias of the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA).  Mr. Bowman, Deputy Director of NASA's Human Space Flight Program in Russia, told guests about the NASA International Space Station Program and its counterparts in the Russian aerospace community.  Mr. Montalbano, Director of the Human Space Flight Program – Russia at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, gave visitors insight into the Shuttle-Mir Program.  Mr. Navias, who is also called "the voice of NASA," offered information about NASA's public relations office.  Forty participants, including teachers and students from Karaganda Technical University, Peace Corps volunteers, and alumni of U.S. government-sponsored programs, enjoyed this event immensely.
