Competencies are measurable human capabilities that are required for effective performance. Competencies consist of knowledge, skills, and abilities and are the building blocks of effective work performance.
Follow the link below to a set of competencies identified for the AMEDD civilian workforce. This model was developed to establish a common language for the AMEDD, clarify expectations for the job, and provide a map for success. The model is a work in progress. It is set up in an Excel workbook, with tabs to 8 worksheets that provide an overview of competencies, fundamental competencies for all grade levels, as well as competencies for different grade ranges and manager/supervisor levels. The last tab contains DoD definitions of these competencies.
Along with the tasks identified for each competency, the model includes a list of courses covering the knowledge, skills and abilities for each competency. Future versions of the AMEDD Competency Model will include hyperlinks to additional course information.
The AMEDD Competency Model was a collaborative effort between the Joint Medical Executive Skills Institute, the Civilian Personnel Proponent Division of the AMEDD Personnel Proponent Directorate, and the office of the AMEDD Civilian Corps Chief. New versions will be posted as the information is updated. |
