History
The I.G. Brown Training and Education Center

The Training and Education Center was established in 1968 as the I.G. Brown Professional Military Education Center, named in honor of the first Director of the Air National Guard, Maj. Gen. I.G. Brown.

It had long been the dream of Maj. Gen. Brown to establish a Noncommissioned Officer Academy within the Air National Guard. He envisioned a center located on an Air National Guard base and staffed by Air National Guardsmen.

Today, it is called The I.G. Brown Training and Education Center and is the heart of leadership training for the Air National Guard.

More than 4,200 students per year attend a variety of professional military education courses and skills enhancement training classes in subjects ranging from explosives safety orientation to food services, recruiting, security and expeditionary medical support.
