Physical:

To better prepare yourself for MSG Duty ensure you are staying in shape and be ready to pass an initial PFT once you report to school. You will also do a final PFT as well as the CFT.

Professional Military Education (PME):

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

1. Complete PME requirements for grade to include non-resident MCI’s as well as resident courses such as Corporal’s Course and Sergeant’s Course, if possible

*SNCOs (only):

1.  SNCO's must be PME complete to include resident course, prior to reporting to MSG School.

2. Range Safety Officer’s course on Marine Net will be required to be completed before graduation from MSG School for all Detachment Commander Students. If you have it completed before you report it is one less requirement to worry about.

Description

This course will serve as the primary method to certify Basic Level Officers-in-charge (OIC) and Range Safety Officer (RSO) within the Marine Corps. Course must be successfully completed prior to receiving local/regional range safety training and certification as a live fire Range Safety Officer or Officer-in-charge.

3. SNCO’s must also be familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite in order to complete required training requirements while in MSG School.

-All required issued uniforms (Uniforms will be serviceable and fit properly) MCBUL 10120 FY_ Minimum Clothing Allowance

-Completed Commanding Officers Recertification & Financial Checklist

-Health/Dental Records

-Service Record Book (if not already electronically scanned in system)

-Completed signed overseas medical screening

-Documentation proving US citizenship i.e. US Passport, original birth certificate, Naturalization Certificate, etc.

-Fingerprint Cards (2)

-Passport photos (20)

-Passport Photos for SNCO family members (20 each)

-SNCO’s must bring a copy of all family medical/dental treatment records, plan ahead to ensure your Base Medical has this for you. 

-SNCO’s family members that see a civilian medical provider: A copy of those records must also be in your possession.  If the civilian medical/dental provider charges for copies, just simply request your family medical records and do the copies yourself. Then turn the original records back into that facility while you are at MSG School. Those records can be withdrawn again before you head to your MSG Post assignment.

-Current LES / BIR/ BTR, Record of Service (MOL copy acceptable)

-$500 Available/$100 Cash for shuttle ride from airport to building 27276, Quantico

-Must have a Check Book/Checking Account (some countries do not have ATM’s)  

-SNCO’s and Sgt’s: All Fitreps to MSG School should be TD reports. You will receive a FD upon graduation.

No Earlier than 60 days prior to check in; must have Medical/ Dental/ Optometry recertify on package with updated signatures and dates.  Class I Dental, Full Optometry Exam, Overseas Screening Physical (Austere Posting), and PDHRA needs to be completed.  Medical, Dental and Optometry will not be available in almost all MSG Post assignments.  Therefore, an updated screening for these must be completed.

SNCO Family Member information:

Required Clothing:

- All uniforms (M.C. standard - accountability & serviceability inspection). Refer to MCBUL 10120 FY_ (Minimum Clothing Allowance) including the all weather coat and green wool sweater with epilates.

- Proper civilian PT gear (You will wear green on green as well) 

- Civilian clothing (Bring a weekends worth of appropriate civilian attire)
