Spinal Cord Injury

About the Program

A Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Outpatient Support Clinic is a designated clinic that is located in a VA Medical Center without a SCI Center. Veterans residing in Salem's catchment area with spinal cord injuries are treated at the VA Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia, which is a designated SCI Center. Recognizing the difficulty of transportation and the need to provide an alternative to inpatient care provided at a SCI Center, the SCI Outpatient Support Clinic was established in 1993.
