Information for Consular Visitors

The U.S. Embassy is located adjacent to the Megaro Mousikis (Music Hall) and near the "Megaro Mousiki" blue line Metro stop.  You can view us on a map here. The Consular section is located at the Kokkali Street entrance near Dinokratous & Evzonon Streets.

To ensure the safety of our visitors, visitors must submit to security procedures before entering the Embassy grounds.  Here are some useful tips to help make your trip as efficient and pleasant as possible.

  • Have your passport or identity card ready.
  • Avoid bringing cameras or mobile phones as they will not be permitted in the Embassy.
  • Additionally, avoid bringing baggage or bulk items such as baby carriages as such items cause delays during the security procedures. There is no place to store these items at the entrance.
  • Embassy visitors requiring U.S. passport or other ACS services should line up at the entrance on the right. Visa applicants with appointments line up on the left. Visitors coming to the Embassy for an ACS service who have appointments should tell the guard and then wait to be let in. Visitors for services which do not require an appointment will be let in on a first-come basis.
  • The Embassy is handicapped-accessible.

The Embassy makes every effort to admit visitors with minimal delay. However, on busy days there may be a lengthy waiting period. We regret this inconvenience, and advise visitors to dress appropriately for the weather. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
