CSOSA utilizes a place-based geographic model of supervision. CSOSA's neighborhood field offices promote frequent contact with the offender and active partnership with the community. Locating field units in the communities where offenders and their families live and work promotes frequent contact with the offender and his social network, fosters partnership with local social service organizations, religious institutions and employers, and supports collaboration with neighborhood law enforcement officers.
