Fort Buchanan Garrison Offices

The mission of Public Affairs is to fulfill the Army's obligation to keep the American people and Army personnel informed and to establish the conditions that lead to confidence in America's Army and its readiness to conduct operations in peacetime, conflict and war.

The Public Affairs Office establishes and conducts specific operational programs designed to inform both internal audiences (the entire installation community) and external audiences (the general public) about the Army and Fort Buchanan activities, events, missions and policies. Examples include responsibility for media relations, the installation newspaper, and community outreach/engagement.

The Fort Buchanan Public Affairs Office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays. The office is located in Building 390 Suite 311 .

Fort Buchanan and The Media

Fort Buchanan is a non-public news gathering forum and as such, all civilian media must have approval and escort prior to entering the Installation. The Public Affairs Office typically makes arrangements to meet civilian media prior to their arrival at the Main Gate of Fort Buchanan.

Media interested in covering Fort Buchanan activities should call the Public Affairs Office at (787) 707-4486 to discuss upcoming media opportunities.
