Research Associate - Ocean Field Instruments

University of Manitoba is seeking a qualified research associate to complement multidisciplinary research on ocean-sea ice-atmosphere (OSA) exchange of heat and mass within marine, sea ice and estuarine environments of the Arctic and sub-Arctic coastal zone. We seek candidates with backgrounds in oceanography, climatology or related fields. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of the physics of ocean and or estuarine processes and be familiar with ocean going instrumentation such as ADCPs, current meters,CTDs, ocean optical sensors, etc. The successful candidate will be expected to provide research leadership and support within a number of existing and proposed polar projects.

Research is conducted under the umbrella of ArcticNet (http://www.arcticnet.ulaval.ca/) and the Arctic Science Partnership (http://www.asp-net.org/). Fieldwork is an expectation of the position.
