Religious Support Office

The garrison’s Religious Support Office provides religious services for Soldiers, civilians and their families. Worship services, educational opportunities and pastoral care are available at chapels, religious education centers and chaplain family life centers located on all principal Army posts on Oahu and the Big Island.

The Religious Support Office provides counseling and worship services, assists with administrative actions such as compassionate reassignments, hardship discharges and conscientious objector interviews, provides accommodations for religious practice for all faith groups (whenever possible) and helps with death notifications.

The garrison’s Religious Support Office conducts a variety of training and programs for the garrison, its tenant units, groups and family members.

Training and programs include:

  • Strong Bonds for single Soldiers, couples and families
  • Prayer breakfasts
  • Unit bible study
  • Spiritual fitness events
  • Chapel services (religious education, special events)
  • Annual Soldier classes such as suicide awareness, values, ethics and moral decision making
  • Morale assessment and leader development
  • Re-deployment and re-integration
  • Family readiness group support and training

Directions: Take Moanalua Freeway to the Red Hill exit. At the four-way stop, turn toward the ocean and follow Aliamanu Drive to the four-way stop by the AAFES shoppette and gas station. Turn left onto Bougainvillea Loop and follow the signs to the chapel.

Fort DeRussy’s chapel is only staffed during services.

Directions: The chapel is located in front of the Hale Koa Hotel (downtown Honolulu) on the same road as the hotel parking ramp.

Directions: Follow Kamehameha Highway (Route 99) past the Dole Plantation to the next stop light at Paalaa Uka Pupukea Road. Turn right to enter Helemano Military Reservation. Then take the second right turn onto Mua Street to the chapel.

Directions: Take H-2 to its end and at the second stoplight (Kunia Road), turn left. From Kunia turn right through Foote Gate. You are now on Foote Avenue. Proceed to the second stoplight, turn right onto Humphreys. Go to next stoplight and turn right onto Cadet Sheridan. The chapel is located on the corner of Cadet Sheridan and McCornack.

Directions: Pohakuloa Training Area is located at mile marker 36 on Saddle Road. After entering the installation, follow the signs to the chapel.

The Soldiers’ Memorial Chapel is only staffed during services.

Directions: Take H-2 to its end and at the second stoplight (Kunia Road), turn left. From Kunia turn right through Foote Gate. You are now on Foote Avenue. Proceed through the first stoplight, and then turn right at the fire station. The chapel is located down the street from the Sgt. Smith Theater and across from Conroy Bowl.


Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) Chapel

Directions: From the Tripler off-ramp on Moanalua Freeway, proceed up Jarrett-White Road to the Medical Center. The chapel is located on the third floor in D Wing, on the ocean side.

Directions: Enter the main gate off Kamehameha Highway (Route 99). Take an immediate right turn, then a left turn onto Wright Avenue until you reach the chapel, on your right From the back gate on Kunia Road, stay on Wright Avenue until you reach the chapel, on your left).
