Noise
If you have concerns related to military training, you may call the U.S. Army Garrison-Hawaii Concern Line at 808-656-3487, and leave a voicemail, to include your name, contact information, location, date, time and details. You can also email your concerns to usaghi.pao.comrel@us.army.mil.
The USAG-HI Public Affairs office will contact you about your concern during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
Military convoys on public roadways
When possible, units convoy at off-peak hours to cause the least impact on local traffic. If you see a violation of the policy regarding military vehicles on public roadways, please attempt to get the bumper number and report it to the Public Affairs Office at 808-656-3158/3159.

About Dillingham Army Airfield (DAAF)
DAAF is a joint-use airfield owned by the U.S. Army and leased by the state of Hawaii for general aviation use. DAAF is used by units and squadrons from all military services for air and land training operations. Private aviation and sport parachuting operations are limited to daytime operations, unless otherwise approved by the Army. For reference, the general ground and aviation training rules and restrictions are explained below.
DAAF Training Schedule
Training is scheduled to take place at DAAF during the dates below and subject to change at any time. Contact the USAG-HI Public Affairs Office at 808-656-3158/3159 for additional information.
- Jan. 29-Feb. 1: Army - Dillingham/Boondocks, Ground
- Feb. 4-6: Army - Dillingham/Boondocks, Ground
- Feb. 13: Army - Dillingham/Boondocks, Ground
DAAF Aviation Training Restrictions
At DAAF, aviators fly in accordance with current Federal Aviation Administration regulations, established state policies, and the U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii, or USAG-HI, Local Flying Rules.
The USAG-HI Local Flying Rules establishes policies and procedures for USAG-HI managed airfields, training and landing areas. Policies apply to all military users. All training areas are operating under the May 31, 2011, Local Flying Rules.
- Runway at DAAF is closed for training, 10 p.m.-7 a.m.
- Boondocks area is open for aviation training activities, 24/7.
- A no-hover area near the runway is in effect, 24/7.
Aircrews will not fly over noise sensitive areas at less than 3,000 feet mean sea level (MSL). If weather conditions will not permit flight at 3,000 feet MSL, aircraft are required to circumnavigate the noise sensitive areas. DAAF Ground Training Restrictions
- There is no live-fire training at Dillingham Airfield.
- Dillingham is open for ground training, 24/7.
Units are authorized to use blanks at anytime; however, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. a 500-meter noise abatement buffer zone is in place between training and residential areas. During the noise abatement hours, blank fire will be limited to small arms only, and pyrotechnics will not be used.
