NSLS-II Project/Quality Engineer

Ed joined the project on March 10, 2008 as a Project Engineer/Quality Engineer, reporting directly to Chris Porretto, Quality Assurance Manager. He will be responsible for the generation, implementation, and maintenance of QA systems and procedures, including design control, process control, discrepancy reporting, calibration, and receiving inspection. He will specify and enforce supplier quality requirements, perform pre-award surveys and surveillance, conduct internal audits, and ensure corrective actions as needed.

Ed has over 20 years of experience in quality engineering and operations in several industries, including manufacturing of high tech electronic systems for military and commercial air traffic control industries, and the manufacturing of electro-mechanical devices for the military, railway and commercial aircraft industries.

Ed attained his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from New York Institute of Technology.
