SFC Jason Allgood



SFC Jason Allgood is the Station Manager of AFN Bavaria.  Hailing from Pelham AL, SFC Allgood did the unthinkable he went to the University of Georgia (go Dawgs!).  SFC Allgood joined the army in 1998 following 4 years of bad judgment with mountains of debt and a drastic need for a change, next stop Fort Jackson, SC. After a brief stint as a “pry” he departed the only Army he knew and ventured forth to Fort Lee VA where he earned the nickname “Private” upon completion of his first AIT it was off to Germany as a 92A (supply) but the job didn’t matter it was Germany, Mannheim to be exact. 547th Supply Company, 71st CS Map Platoon. (Exciting huh)  Unfortunately the good times came to an end in Germany and the now SPC Allgood took his video game collection to Fort Hood TX D Co. 1/227 Aviation. (First Attack!) While at Fort Hood SPC Allgood experienced a pivotal point in his life, his first re-enlistment using his motto of “re-enlisting is like buying a car, ask for anything and see how bad they want you to have it.” In the fall of 2001 he departed for Fort Meade MD to become a 46R. (MOS number two) Four months after arriving at his new duty station Fort Lewis WA with the 28th Public Affairs Detachment, and one month following his wedding in FL he was off to Afghanistan in June 2002 for OEF I. In June 2003 after earning the nickname “Sergeant” he, his new wife and pug packed up from Fort Lewis and moved to Vicenza Italy to join AFN Vicenza / AFN South.  While in Italy he picked up his second deployment to Afghanistan.  In 2005 he, his wife with bun in the oven and pug picked up again and moved to Wiesbaden to join AFN Hessen and serve as the NCOIC. In August of 2007 the now SFC Allgood piled the wife, kid and two pugs into the ol’ plane and headed off for Fort Bragg NC where he became the Public Affairs Officer for the 82nd Sustainment Brigade.  In 2009 the brigade deployed to Afghanistan. (For those counting that’s three.) In March 2011 SFC Allgood arrived in Germany to take the reins of AFN Bavaria. SFC Allgood is married to the former Kelley E Gass of Fernandina Beach FL, since May 2002.  They have two children: Gretchen, 5 and Patrick, 2 and two pugs: Charlie 7 and Sophie 3.
