 The Consular Section of the United States Embassy in Bamako, Mali is committed to providing clients consular services respectfully, efficiently, and in accordance with U.S. law. 

Emergency Contact Information

For emergencies during normal Consular hours please contact the Consular Section at (+223) 20 70 25 05. You are also welcome to come to the Embassy for emergency assistance.

For after hours emergencies involving an Americain Citzen in Mali, please contact the Embassy Duty Officer via the main Embassy telephone number, (+223) 20 70 23 01 or 20 70 23 02

In an effort to provide more efficient services to American Citizens, the Consular Section of the Embassy of the United States of America, Bamako will be implementing revised public hours effective November 21, 2011.  Please note that with the exception of emergency American Citizen Services, all services listed below are now by appointment only.

American Citizen Services (Emergency Only)

The U.S. Embassy is closed on U.S. and Malian holidays and will not be able to provide non-emergency citizen services on these days.  For any other American Citizen Services inquiries, please email at  acsbamako@state.gov

The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Bamako provides the full range of American Citizen Services including passports, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad, and notarials. 
We encourage all U.S. citizens, whether residing in Mali or just visiting Mali for a few days to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) in person at the Consular Section or via the internet at https://travelregistration.state.gov/ibrs/ui/
