Ebi Awosika, M.D., M.P.H. 

Dr. Ebi Awosika directs Employee Health Promotion Disease and Impairment Prevention in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Public Health. She is a board certified internist and Occupational Health Physician who directed Employee Occupational Health at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System prior.

The VHA’s Employee Health Promotion Disease and Impairment Prevention Program (EHPDIP) provides training in worksite health coaching, including: tobacco cessation services, stress management, opportunities for increased physical activity and resources for healthy eating/weight management. EHPDIP also provides services to support and advocate for a drug-free workplace and prevention of provider impairment. These initiatives are integrated into facility employee safety and health and augmented with quantitative evaluation of their effects on health behaviors and productivity.

Dr. Awosika completed her residency in internal medicine at the Harlem Hospital, New York and her Occupational Medicine residency at Emory University, Atlanta. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Awosika is married to a psychiatrist, and they have 2 daughters. She is actively involved in community service through her local church.
