Job Corps R&R Field Report
The R&R Field Report, distributed twice monthly, featured project updates, center spotlights, photographs, and video clips of students, instructors, and construction contractors and provided a regular channel of communication between the National Office of Job Corps, Job Corps center staff members, and the Department of Labor.
Job Corps ARRA Outreach Toolkit
The ARRA Outreach Toolkit was created to assist Job Corps staff members and students in communicating the program's Recovery Act goals to potential students and audiences like employers and community organizations. The internal toolkit pieces used by staff include one-pagers, vignettes, Webinars, logos, and an online photo database. Several of these pieces were made available for download.
Job Corps Staff One-Pager - The Staff One-Pager provides Job Corps staff members with a general overview of the program's ARRA goals so they can communicate those goals to one another, students, employers, community organizations, or anyone interested in learning more about the program.
Career Transition Services One-Pager - Career Transition Services (CTS) is the department of Job Corps responsible for graduate support services. The CTS One-Pager was designed for CTS providers to use when reaching out to employers and business owners about Job Corps and the benefits associated with hiring a Job Corps graduate.
Student One-Pager - The Student One-Pager gives potential and currently enrolled students an overview of green training opportunities available and includes detailed information about Job Corps' green career pathways.
Logos - To give staff members the opportunity to promote the program's ARRA initiatives, whether through internal letters or center-specific e-newsletters, the Toolkit provides PDFs, JPEGs, and high-resolution EPS files of the logos for branding purposes.
Online Support Services
Vignettes - Short center spotlights highlighting successful ARRA projects at centers nationwide were posted to the staff Job Corps Communtity Web site approximately every two weeks.
Webinars - Monthly Webinars were established to communicate directly with the contractors who operate Job Corps centers across the country. The Webinars provided updates on ARRA initiatives and acted as a forum for contractor discussions with the National Office.
E-Mail Communication – An ARRA-specific e-mail address was created to facilitate communication between the National Office and Job Corps centers, and to encourage staff to submit ARRA-related questions, updates, best practices, and success stories.
GreenSnap - Job Corps created a photo database website, GreenSnap.org, as a forum for Job Corps staff members to upload photos of ARRA-funded projects and initiatives. Photos from centers across the country were uploaded to GreenSnap on a regular basis and were used in multiple editions of the R&R Field Report and in other marketing materials.
