2005 ASME Award for Best Presentation
Stephen Ciatti of Argonne National Laboratory received an award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) for having given the best presentation at the 2005 Fall Technical Conference for the ASME Internal Combustion Engine Division in Ottawa, Canada. Ciatti accepted the award on behalf of himself and his colleagues, Scott Miers and Henry Ng. Their paper, "Influence of EGR on Soot/NOx Production in a Light-Duty Diesel Engine," utilized advanced optical diagnostics to determine the influence of chemistry and fluid mechanics behind the use of Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) to reduce NOx in diesel engines.
