Description: 65-yr old naturally regenerated slash pine/long leaf pine forest on Austin Cary Management Forest. The Austin Cary tower is located on university-owned land, and it is anticipated will remain that way for perpetuity. Lightening strikes during the summer of 2002 fried instrumentation and caused a six-month outage. Measurements did not resume until January 2003.
