ATTENTION: Warning to all users. Deactivation of Soil Data Mart downloads planned for April 24, 2013
In order to deliver more consistent output, we are transitioning away from the Soil Data Mart.
The capability of downloading SSURGO data sets for whole soil survey areas, and STATSGO2 data will moved from Soil Data Mart to the
Web Soil Survey 3.0 release. Web Soil Survey also offers the ability for you to select an area of interest for which you can
download SSURGO data or generate thematic maps and tabular reports.
After deactivation of Soil Data Mart downloads, SSURGO (tabular and spatial where available) data for any area in the United States,
its possessions, or its trust territories will only be available through Web Soil Survey.
In addition, downloading national or state templates or US General Soil Map (STATSGO2) data will only be available through
Web Soil Survey. The capability to select one or more
map units from a soil survey area and run the prewritten reports will remain active in Soil Data Mart for a limited time.
Complete deactivation of this Soil Data Mart site, including reports, will occur around June, 2013. After this date all the capabilities
of Soil Data Mart (with minor exceptions) will be available through Web Soil Survey.
NOTE: If you have created hyperlinks from other applications or documents to Soil Data Mart you will have to edit them to link to the
appropriate areas of Web Soil Survey. Be aware, however, that the capability to link to a specific report will not be available
with Web Soil Survey. Click here for instructions
ALSO: If you are receiving email notices of updates to the Soil Data Mart, your subscriptions will not be transferred to Web Soil Survey.
You will have to sign up for RSS feeds from Web Soil Survey 3.0 if you wish to continue receiving notices.
If you have questions, please contact Soils Hotline staff at soilshotline@lin.usda.gov .

Welcome to the Soil Data Mart! The Soil Data Mart allows you to:
- Determine where soil tabular and spatial data is available.
- Download data for one soil survey area at a time. (Download requests for more than one survey area at a time can be submitted
through the Geospatial Data Gateway. Going through the Geospatial
Data Gateway also provides the option to obtain data on CD or DVD.)
- Download a template Microsoft Access® database for working with downloaded data.
- Generate a variety of reports for one soil survey area at a time.
- Find out who to contact for information about soil data for a particular state.
- "Subscribe" or "unsubscribe" to a soil survey area. A person who is subscribed will automatically be notified whenever data
for that soil survey area is updated. You must register and login before doing this.
An alternative presentation of the soil survey area data contained in the Soil Data Mart, including on screen or printed
soil maps, is available through Web Soil Survey.
The Soil Data Access website provides additional options
for requesting soil tabular and spatial data. This website and suite of web services is geared towards intermediate and
advanced end-users.
