Work Hours:     Flexible Hours Monday – Friday 0830-1700

The U.S. Embassy in Copenhagen is seeking ONLY students from the “Taking the Lead Program” for the position of Public Affairs Intern.

Basic Function of The Position

  1. Search for information about US History for the EMU.DK Virtual Presence Post website under the guidelines provided and upload material to this ever-growing Embassy partnership with the Danish Ministry of Education. Portions of this will also be done in Danish -- composing games for students in grades 1-3 to to learn about US history.
  2. Compose responses for requests of information received by the Information Resource Center (IRC) on a variety of subjects. 
  3. Archive photos and do basic Photoshop touch-up on photos as needed. 
  4. Assist in the production and editing of Embassy made videos for the US Embassy web site, including but not exclusively "Teddy and EMU visit the Embassy", "Greeting from the new Ambassador" (if here), interviews of previous summer Taking the Lead participants, and others as devised.  

Qualifications Required

  1. Must be a Foreign National Student taking part in the Taking the Lead Program.
  2. Must certify that you are currently a student and 18 years of age at the start of the internship. 
  3. Must attest that you are or will be starting additional studies at a gymnasium or university following this internship. 

Selection Criteria:  Applicants must complete the US Mission Copenhagen Application for Foreign National Taking the Lead Intern Program Application provided on this website prior to the closing date of this announcement.


Additional Selection Criteria

4. The candidate must be cleared by the Regional Security Office prior to start of the internship.
